Case conferences and settlement conferences
In some Canadian courts, especially in Ontario, persons are required to attend what are called case conferences or settlement conferences. These conferences are not courts but meetings at the court presided over by a judge in which parties try to resolve their differences. Many question the need of these conferences which cost the taxpayers significant amounts of money. If you or your lawyer participated in a conference then please answer the following questions.
